Sunshine PAWS is a nonprofit organization dedicated to rescue and adoption. We specialize in the rescue of animals from Northwest Indiana shelters and place the animals in caring foster homes, preparing them for successful adoption into their FOREVER HOME ♥.
We gladly serve as an educational resource for the public regarding the prevention of cruelty to animals. Our focus on the importance of microchip ID's spay and neuter awareness is one of the ways we hope to reduce the population of homeless and stray animals in our community.
Sunshine PAWS works with talented and committed volunteers and professional veterinarians to provide all animals in our foster care with medical attention and a safe haven prior to placement in their permanent, loving FOREVER HOMES ♥.
VOLUNTEER or FOSTER!
We would love to have your help ... so let us know if you have the time for dog-walking, training, grooming, transportation to vet appointments, or working on our adoption or educational events. Of course there are many behind-the-scene opportunities, too! Shopping for supplies, organizing files, bookkeeping, etc. Just let us know how you want to get involved at Sunshine PAWS!

Volunteers must be 18 years old or accompanied by a parent/guardian. We invite teens to contact us if they would like to do fundraising projects on behalf of the rescue.

Sunshine PAWS is a nonprofit organization that works only because of the generosity of donors like you who are concerned about the rescue and care of homeless pets. Please consider giving! No amount is too small. We will soon be accepting on-line gifts. Until then, we are happy to accept checks, gift cards or other cash-type donations that can be mailed to us. We will also be happy to arrange for the pick-up of food, treats, toys, bedding, collars, leashes, crates, etc. We truly appreciate all that you do!
In Honor or In Memory Of
We accept donations in honor of a person or special occasion, as well as in memory of a loved one or beloved pet. In addition to sending you a letter, we will also send a card according to your directions. Please tell us what type of gift it is and to whom you would like us to send a card—including name and mailing address. |
ADOPT!
Adopting a pet means giving an animal a second leash on life. By making the choice to adopt, you will provide an animal with what every pet deserves ... a home to call its own. You will not only be saving the life of the adopted animal, but also making room in our foster program so that we may save another! Your choice to adopt is a meaningful statement that you do not support the inhumane treatment of animals in the puppymill system. |
